About ISN
Inventory Services Network
Inventory Services Network (ISN) is a national organization of independent inventory service companies who share a common work ethic, extensive experience and our own state-of-the-art inventory software, while using a variety of data capturing devices. Through this organization, we are better able to offer inventory services throughout much of the nation, including Alaska and the Virgin Islands, without lessening our ability to customize each inventory for our customers.
ISN members continue to meet semi-annually to enhance its powerful and state-of-art software, discuss the latest changes in the inventory industry and the industries of our customers, and evaluate new and additional services that we can offer to our customers. Through these meetings, ISN has introduced various means of capturing, importing, and exporting data, RF technology, and laser scanners. Our ability to capture data, customize reports, return inventory results electronically, and export data to respond to specific customer requirements is just a matter of time and opportunity.
Inventory Services Network History
The idea of linking independent inventory services together based on commonality of software and equipment began to take root early in 1992 with the name of United Inventory Association. The stated goals of this group were:
- Link a common data collector with inventory company owners to form a unified group.
- Solicit and provide inventory service opportunities for all members.
Independent inventory services were contacted and invited to an inaugural meeting held August 8th-10th, 1992 in St. Paul MN.
Since 1992, independent inventory services have continued to meet 2-3 times annually. Over the years, the United Inventory Association has evolved into the Inventory Services Network, Inc. (ISN).
Our goals include:
- Building and sustaining a strong and unified inventory association
- Enhancing the ISN-owned inventory software package
- Providing excellent, accurate, and professional inventory services throughout most of the United States, Alaska, and the Caribbean
- Enhancing member knowledge and changes in the inventory industry and the industries of our customers and technology
Inventory Services Network Inventory Software
ISN took the best software functionality the industry had to offer and developed it into a powerful, state-of-the-art inventory software program that gives us the ability to cater to the individual inventory requirements of each customer and provide on-site results for most inventories.
Inventory Flexibility:
The ISN software has the flexibility to successfully process all types of inventories: Financial, SKU, Barcode, Manual, Asset and Price Verifications.
Data Capturing Hardware:
Our Software accepts data from variety of Data Capturing Hardware via cable upload, PCMIA Storage Cards, and RF Technology. This functionality allows multiple companies to participate in large regional and nationwide inventories.
Data Reconciling:
Our software has the functionality to allow ISN companies to assist in reconciling inventory variances by comparing the inventory results with the customer's on-hand quantities on-site as soon as the data is collected and loaded into our software. These quantities will not be accessible to the inventory counters, but can be electronically loaded into the software and used to compare the inventory results once they have been collected. The additional manpower of the inventory crew can assist in addressing the variances and accelerate the reconciliation process for the customer.
Reporting:
There are several choices of standardized reports as well as the ability to customize reports to the specifics of each customer. Reports can be printed, saved as a PDF, RTF, or other type of document. Data can also be loaded into a common electronic format on-site.
Uploading Results into Customer's Inventory System:
Our software has the capability to customize the inventory results file to the customer specifics of the data layout required to upload the results directly into the customer's system, if that functionality is available on the customer's system. This capability can be done on-site in most cases and allows the customer to begin normal daily operations faster.
