History of ISN

The idea of linking independent inventory services together based on commonality of software and equipment began to take root early in 1992 with the name of United Inventory Association. The stated goals of this group were:

  • Link a common data collector with inventory company owners to form a unified group.
  • Solicit and provide inventory service opportunities for all members.

Independent inventory services were contacted and invited to an inaugural meeting held August 8th-10th, 1992 in St. Paul MN.

Since 1992, independent inventory services have continued to meet 2-3 times annually. Over the years, the United Inventory Association has evolved into the Inventory Services Network, Inc. (ISN).

Our goals include:

  • Building and sustaining a strong and unified inventory association
  • Enhancing the ISN-owned inventory software package
  • Providing excellent, accurate, and professional inventory services throughout most of the United States, Alaska, and the Caribbean
  • Enhancing member knowledge and changes in the inventory industry and the industries of our customers and technology
